Troop 76 meets every Monday evening from 7:00-8:30 pm at the
First Christian Church
located at 115 Courthouse Plaza.
Our
troopmaster is Mark Naughton - retired military currently working
as an independent contractor at Fort Riley. Mark had received
his Eagle with Troop 76 'way back when' and immediately enlisted
his son in the troop when they moved back to Manhattan. Some
of the other scouts in our troop also had fathers that had been
involved with 76 (quite a legacy!).
We
live for camping and high adventures!
We camp once per month, rain or shine! Every two years we send crews
to Philmont, Canoe
Trails and Okpik. In the summer of 2007, some of our younger scouts
did a week of summer camp at Camp Sunnen in Missouri while
some of our scouts and leaders participated in canoe trails up in Canada. In 2006 they did a backpacking
trek in Wyoming.
